The European Championships Division A tournament has just wrapped up in Tenerife being won by Turkey and the Netherlands, in the men’s and women’s competitions respectively. However, there is no rest for IWBF Europe as the European Championships Division C competition is about to commence.

The European Championships Division C tournament will take place from July 25th to July 28th in Brno, Czech Republic at the Kamenice Sports Hall, University Campus Bohunice.

The competition consists of seven teams; Belgium, Czech Republic, Greece, Hungary, Republic of Ireland, Portugal and Serbia.

As the host nation, the Czech Republic will be looking to put on a good show in front of a hometown crowd.  The will face tough competition from Belgium and Portugal, both have previously won the tournament in 2005 and 2007 respectively and both hope to repeat their success.

The tournament has proven to provide a good pathway for European teams to develop as seen with previous Championship winners, Lithuania who recently participated in the Division A of the European Championships.
