The wheelchair basketball community is raising the #WhiteCard to symbolise the value & power of sport to bring people together to celebrate the International Day of Sport for Development and Peace on the 6th of April.
Holding up a #WhiteCard, just like a referee, is an action that symbolizes the positive power of sport. In contrast with the red card, which signifies the most serious offense in sport, the #WhiteCard is a gesture of inclusion, equity and peace.
Wheelchair Basketball Federation of India President, Madhavi Latha, said “Sport is a powerful tool for inclusion in the society. Sport has brought phenomenal change in the lives of players whom we are working with and in my own life too. Let’s all encourage our youngsters to participate in sports to create a sustainable impact on peace and development.”
