IWBF have issued sanctions following an incident that took place in the game between Algeria and China on Saturday 18th August 2018 at the 2018 World Championships.
Following a report of the incident, IWBF launched a disciplinary proceeding and referred the matter to its Disciplinary Panel. As a result of the disciplinary procedure, IWBF determined that there was a breach of IWBF Regulations – Section C, IWBF Code of Ethics.
The outcome of the disciplinary panel is to impose sanctions on China. These sanctions include a member of the Chinese staff to be suspended for the game of China versus Germany on Wednesday 22nd August 2018.
The disciplinary investigation, based on which the sanctions were rendered, took into account all the evidence on file and considered IWBF’s legal framework. The sanctions that have not been listed include the involvement of the NOWB and the advice to take further action.
