Following the third day of action at the Men’s 2018 South America Championships the final standings of the preliminary rounds were decided.

All eight teams advanced to the next round as part of the competition format, but pool placings would decide their quarter-final opponents.

Argentina and Brazil demonstrated their strength topping their respective pools, by going undefeated with three wins apiece. They will meet Eucador and Bolivia who both ended the phase without a victory.

Colombia finished second in pool B following defeat to pool winners Brazil and will match up against Chile in the next stage, who were beaten by Uruguay on the final day. The win for Uruguay saw them claim second place in pool A and line up an exciting game against hosts Peru.

The top three finishers at the tournament will secure the final places available at the Lima 2019 Parapan American Games, apart from Peru who have already qualified as the host nation.
