Eight nations will compete in the 2019 IWBF Women’s U25 World Championships.

The third Women’s U25 World Championships will take place in the region of Suphanburi, which is located 100km north of the city of Bangkok, between Thursday 23rd May and Tuesday 28th May 2019.

Reigning champions Great Britain will return to defend their title. This will be their third consecutive appearance having participated in 2011 and 2015, along with Japan, Australia, and Germany who have also taken part in all previous championships.

USA, who did not participate in the 2015 tournament, will try to repeat their success of 2011 in St Catharine’s, Canada where they took home gold. South Africa also return following an absence in 2015.

Turkey and Thailand will make their debut at the tournament.

IWBF President, Ulf Mehrens, said “We are delighted to be able to have eight teams confirmed for the Women’s U25 World Championships, including two making their debut at the event. It is a credit to the nations and zones for their focus on developing the women’s game that we are able to stage the event and we believe it will continue to encourage the growth of the sport.”

Due to the number of teams registered, the revised dates of the Championships are arrival on Monday 20th May and departure on Wednesday 29th May, with the tournament commencing on the 23rd May and culminating with the medal games on the 28th May.

Draw and Pairings

The draw for the pools is planned to take place in Bangkok on 1st April 2019. Based on the team rankings and the rankings of the zones from the last World Championships in Beijing, the pairings for the draw are:
