Twenty-three International Technical Officials have been nominated for the 2019 Women’s U25 Wheelchair Basketball World Championships.

The championships, which were held for the first time in 2011 and take place every four years, will this time be hosted in Suphanburi, Thailand between the 23rd – 28th May 2019, and will see eight countries compete.

The Tournament Technical Committee will compromise of three members, Technical Delegate Don Perriman (AUS), assisted by Ang Kean Koo (MAS) and joined by IWBF Secretary-General, Norbert Kucera (GER).

The classification panel at the tournament is headed up by Chairwoman of IWBF Classification Commission, Regina Costa (POR). She will be joined by classifiers Beatriz Garcia Hernando (ESP), Lisa Chaffey (AUS), Karen Ferguson (CAN), Soraya Unruengam (THA) and Jin Yin Tan (MAS).

Ten referees representing all four zones will make up the game crews for the tournament. Helen Rosenberg (AUS), Mauricio Zamponi (ITA), Chih-Hsin Hsiao (TPE), Poh Boon Yap (MAS), Celine Villard (FRA), Pandora Wesolowska (POL), Gustavo Mathias (BRA), Hiroki Ono (JPN), Hector Carmona (ESP), and Natascha Onono (RSA). They will be observed by referee supervisors, Matt Wells (AUS) and Shu-Fei Hsieh (TPE).

Game Commissioners Somkiat Ngoenphotduang (THA) and Nathalie van Meurs (NED) will be responsible for managing the table.

IWBF Secretary General, Norbert Kucera, said “I would like to congratulate all of the officials on their appointments to the 2019 Women’s U25 World Championships. The nominations were made in close cooperation between myself, the Chairman of the Competition Commission, Charlie Bethel, the Chairman of the Technical Commission, Cristian Roja, and the Chairwomen of the Player Classification Commission, Regina Costa. We believe that the team of ITO’s selected will ensure the smooth running of this competition.”
