Following three days of wheelchair basketball action in the preliminary round of the 2019 Women’s U25 World Championship the quarter-final match-ups have been confirmed.
Great Britain and USA, who both went 3-0 in the first phase of the competition. finished top of their pools and will now face Turkey and Thailand, respectively.
In pool A, Japan finished second with two wins and one loss – to group winners Great Britain – ensuring they meet Germany who finished third in pool B, whilst South Africa’s opening day victory over Thailand determined they took third place in the pool, with Thailand fourth.
Pool B was much a similar story as Australia finished with two wins and one loss meaning they play South Africa in the quarter-final. The third-fourth place came down to the game between Germany and Turkey which Germany won to set-up a quarter-final against Japan.
