The final eight of the 2019 Women’s U25 World Championship was today cut to four, as Great Britain, Australia, USA and Japan all won their quarter-finals in Suphanburi, Thailand to progress to the next stage.
The opening quarter-final was between Germany and Japan, and it proved to be a thriller, going right down to the last minute of the game. It was Japan who finished the stronger though, to win 42-37. Japan will now face one of the favourites in the tournament USA, who calmly sailed past Thailand 65-10 in their quarter-final.
Australia secured their place in the semi-finals of an U25 World’s for the third time with a comfortable win over South Africa, 72-12, lining up a semi-final against current reigning champions Great Britain. GB progess after a dominating performance against Turkey, 70-15.
