Turkey have selected the 12 athletes that will represent them at the 2019 Women’s European Championship which starts on Sunday 30th June in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.

The team contains nine members of the side who won gold at the 2018 Women’s European Championship Division B promoting Turkey back up to Division A.

Of the three changes made to the team, Ebru Gökşen, who was part of the 2017 Women’s European Championship team returns, and there are the additions of youngsters Ebru Cam and Hatice Atay, who both competed for Turkey at the recent Women’s U25 World Championship this May.

 

The championship will act as the zonal qualification tournament for the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games, with the top four teams qualifying. If Turkey do make the top four, they will become the first Turkish women’s wheelchair basketball team to qualify to play at a Paralympic Games.
