The 2019 Men’s European Championship begins on Friday (30th August) in Wałbrzych, Poland.

Regional bragging rights are not only at stake, but it will also be the site where four teams can make their Paralympic dreams come alive, with slots available for the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games.

The top twelve men’s teams in Europe will compete across two pools in a bid to become Champions of Europe as well as secure a ticket to the Paralympic Games.

World Champions Great Britain headline pool A, while current European Champions, Turkey, are the ones to beat in pool B.

Great Britain will compete against 2017 European bronze medallists Germany, as well as Italy, Switzerland, Austria, and hosts Poland in pool A.

Turkey will have a tough challenge in pool B as they look to defend their European title, coming up against Paralympic silver medallists Spain, the Netherlands, Israel, France, and Russia.

The preliminary stages tip off on Friday evening when hosts Poland take on Switzerland in the opening game at 7pm (local time), and run through until Wednesday 4th September. The knock-out stages follow on Friday and Saturday, culminating with the medal games on Sunday 8th September.
