IWBF are pleased to announce the Japanese translation of three official technical documents.
Japanese versions of the 2018 Official Wheelchair Basketball Rules, the 2019 Comments and Interpretations of the 2018 Official Wheelchair Basketball Rules, and the 3×3 Official Wheelchair Basketball Rules have been published and can now be downloaded from the download section on the website.
All documents are currently valid and are mandatory for all official competitions of IWBF.
Chairman of the IWBF Technical Commission, Cristian Roja, said:
“I would like to thank Eisuke Kanno, an International Referee Instructor and former International Referee, as well as everyone who assisted him including the Japanese Wheelchair Basketball Federation, for the excellent job they have done in translating these documents for IWBF.
“This is another huge contribution of an International Technical Official’s free time to help ensure there is a better understanding of our game all over the world. We understand that the rules are not the most attractive or spectacular part of the game, but to be able to produce them in different languages as we are doing, is vital to open the door to new spectators, players, coaches and officials to join wheelchair basketball.
“With the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games on the horizon and wheelchair basketball being in the spotlight and attracting new audiences in Japan, the Japanese versions were a priority.”
