The Copa del Rey brings together the eight of the best Spanish wheelchair basketball teams this weekend in Albacete
The eight best Spanish teams will compete between 5 and 6 June in Albacete and the La Roda municipality of La Roda in the 43rd edition of the King’s Cup of wheelchair basketball.
The Cup will be made up of the eight teams that finished in the top eight of the Honor Division League: Ilunion (Madrid), Amiab Albacete, Bidaideak Bilbao, Mideba Extremadura (Badajoz), ACE Gran Canaria (Las Palmas de Gran Canaria), Aliados Foundation (Valladolid), Iberconsa Amfiv (Vigo) and Amivel (Vélez-Málaga).
The quarterfinals will be played on the morning of Saturday 5 June with the following pairings:
9:30: Ilunion vs Mideba Extremadura
9:30: Amiab Albacete vs Iberconsa Amfiv
11:30: Amivel vs Fundación Aliados
11.30: Bidaideak Bilbao vs ACE Gran Canaria
The semi-finals will be played at the Cocheras-Lepanto pavilion in Albacete on Saturday afternoon. The winners of the matches at 9.30 in the morning will be meet in the 17.00 semi-final and the winners of the 11.30 games will do so at 19.00.
The match for third and fourth place will be on Sunday 6 June from 8:45, while the grand final will be at 11.00, broadcast live on Teledeporte.
All matches will have an audience in the stands. The organization has designed a strict security protocol to comply with current sanitary measures.
Ilunion will be trying to defend the title they have won consecutively since 2011. The Madrid team is the most successful club in the Copa del Rey with 19 titles, ahead of Ademi Málaga (10), ONCE Andalucía (7), Virgen del Rocío (4) and BSR ACE Gran Canaria (2).

The competition will be held thanks to the support of CaixaBank, the main sponsor for the sixth consecutive year, and the municipalities of Albacete and La Roda, the Higher Sports Council (CSD), Fundación ONCE, Triride and Plus Ultra Seguros.
