The International Wheelchair Basketball Federation (IWBF) and the People’s Sport Foundation (PSF) have joined forces, with PSF becoming an Official Supporter of IWBF.
PSF is a non-profit, private organisation dedicated to strengthening the promotion of sports for people with disabilities and shares the same vision as IWBF that sport can be used to assist in transforming the lives of people with a disability across the world.
PSF Chairman Fabian M. Teichmann said:
“This is our first collaboration with IWBF. The beauty of this sport and its teamwork that unites people gives us confidence that Wheelchair Basketball allows people with disabilities to achieve excellent results and develop their best qualities not only in sports, but in our society. We are very pleased to start our cooperation.”
IWBF President Ulf Mehrens said:
“It’s fantastic to have formed this partnership with the People’s Sport Foundation for what we hope can be the start of a budding cooperation. We believe the synergies of their mission and our sport provide the perfect foundation to support people with disabilities at all levels. We’re excited to see what a difference we can make together.”
IWBF and PSF will work together by using wheelchair basketball to transform lives and break down barriers. PSF’s goal to develop long-term social and investment programmes to assist athletes with a disability will complement IWBF’s work developing the game of wheelchair basketball across the globe.
