The Challenged Athletes Foundation (CAF) and the National Wheelchair Basketball Association (NWBA) are excited to announce the launch of the Wheelchair Basketball Training Zone presented by Nike. This comprehensive training program will help athletes of all abilities learn, train and play wheelchair basketball anytime, anywhere.
The Training Zone features an extensive video library to help individuals work on ball handling skills, on-court skills and improve strength and mobility. It is designed to introduce more athletes with physical disabilities to the sport and help athletes of all abilities improve their skills. CAF & NWBA will also be adding more video content to this library over the coming months.
The NWBA are proud to be part of this exciting initiative, and hope you can share this content with coaches, friends, and teammates to help grow the sport of wheelchair basketball and get more individuals introduced to the game we love so much.
The Training Zone launches with instructional videos available for free on CAF's website and CAF's YouTube channel. The videos are also available to the public on the NWBA Page of Team USA’s Mobile Coach, a free web-based application that gives coaches and players access to resources from the United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee. The Mobile Coach App can be downloaded at no charge on Apple or Android devices by searching for “Team USA Mobile Coach”. Once you download the app, you will need to add account and search for “NWBA Mobile Coach” to access the library.
Check out the videos today and see how CAF and the NWBA are working to ensure playing hoops is available and accessible to everyone.
