The Competitions Commission is a key entity within IWBF, responsible for managing and overseeing the organisation's international events. Guided by the IWBF Handbook and Internal Regulations, the commission ensures that competitions such as the World Championships and Paralympic Games are conducted smoothly and fairly.

Its duties include drafting and amending competition regulations, training and appointing international commissioners, and designing effective competition systems. The commission also manages the IWBF's global competition calendar and addresses specific needs related to women’s wheelchair basketball and youth competitions.

In addition, the Competitions Commission continually assesses the demand for new tournaments and presents these ideas for consideration by the Executive Council. By upholding these responsibilities, the commission plays a vital role in maintaining the integrity and development of wheelchair basketball worldwide.
