The 15th Kitakyushu Champions Cup will take place between the 16th November - 18th November 2018 in Kitakyushu, Japan. This year the tournament will welcome Canada, the Netherlands and Thailand to compete against host nation Japan.  The tournament is aimed at developing future International starts and is an Under 23 men's tournament, with the allowance of three over-age players in each team.  Running alongside the tournament, the organisers will also hold the All-Japan Block Selected Championship and Elementary School Competition. Men’s 2018 South America Championship in Lima, Peru from December 1-8, 2018. The South America Championship will serve to qualify three teams to the 2019 Parapan American Games to be hosted by Lima, Peru, in August 2019.  Already qualified for the Games are Canada, USA, and Peru as the host. The 2018 Central America and Caribbean Championship will serve to qualify the final two teams for the 2019 Games. Teams invited Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Uruguay and Venezuela.

Women's U25 Wheelchair Basketball World Championships

The city of Suphanburi in Thailand is set to host IWBF’s Women’s U25 Wheelchair Basketball World Championships between the 22nd - 30th May 2019.This will be the third edition of the Women’s U25 World Championships, with the previous two being hosted in Beijing, China in 2015 and Toronto, Canada in 2011.

The Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games will feature 4,400 athletes who will compete in 537 medal events the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) has announced. The wheelchair basketball competition will remain unchanged from Rio 2016, including two medal events (1 men’s and 1 women’s) and 264 athlete slots (144 men and 120 women)
