Ghana is set to host the African Para Games for the first time in 2023. The 2023 African Paralympic Games which will take place in Accra between the 3-12 September.
The wheelchair basketball competition will be the 2023 African Championships to decide which African nation proceeds to the IWBF Paris 2024 Repechage Tournaments next April.
Women's Competition

*Due to the forced withdrawal of Nigeria women following the Government withdrawing their support on the day of travel, the women's competition will be played as one group.
Men's Competition
Men's Group A
Ghana, Algeria, Uganda, DR Congo, Morocco
Men's Group B
Egypt, Kenya, Senegal, South Africa, Angola
*Due to the late withdrawal of Nigeria and Central Africa Republic, the men's competition will now be played as just two groups.
