The first-ever IWBF 3x3 Open World Championships, set to take place from August 1-3, 2025, at the iconic Sun City resort in South Africa. This groundbreaking event, hosted by Wheelchair Basketball South Africa (WBSA), will bring together the men’s and women’s 3x3 wheelchair basketball teams from across the world to compete in a thrilling and dynamic format.
The championship marks a historic milestone, as it is the first IWBF 3x3 World Championships and the first IWBF World Championships to be held on African soil. This event celebrates the growth of 3x3 wheelchair basketball, a format that offers smaller nations and individual players a chance to shine on the global stage.

• Africa: Kenya, Libya, South Africa, Egypt
• Americas: Canada
• Asia Oceania (AOZ): Australia, Iran, Malaysia, UAE
• Europe: Austria, Great Britain, Poland, Slovenia, Spain, Portugal, Croatia
