The 2025 IWBF U23 Men’s Africa Championship will take place at the Mandeville Indoor Sports Center in Johannesburg, South Africa, from February 3–13, 2025. This championship serves as the African qualifier for the 2025 IWBF U23 Men’s World Championship in São Paulo, Brazil, providing a opportunity for one team to secure their place on the world stage.

Organised by Wheelchair Basketball South Africa (WBSA), the event will feature a comprehensive program including player eligibility testing, team classification, technical and coaching workshops, and a competitive schedule culminating in the semi-finals, playoffs, and finals.

Teams will arrive on February 3, with matches beginning on February 6 and concluding with the final on February 12. The championship promises an exciting showcase the talent and determination, underscoring the spirit of wheelchair basketball in the African Zone.

Men's U23 World Championship

The IWBF Men’s U23 Wheelchair Basketball World Championship is an international competition showcasing the best young male wheelchair basketball players from around the world. Zonal qualification tournaments are held in each of the four IWBF Zones (Americas, Africa, Europe, and Asia Oceania) to determine the countries that qualify.

The event, held every four years, made its debut in 1997 in Toronto, Canada, and continues to be a platform for the next generation of elite athletes in the sport.
