The 2025 IWBF Men’s U23 Americas Championship is set to showcase the best young wheelchair basketball talent from across the Americas. Held in Bogotá, Colombia from April 2 to 6, 2025, this prestigious regional competition will feature Brazil, Canada, Colombia, and the USA, competing for two qualification spots at the 2025 IWBF Men’s U23 World Championship, taking place in São Paulo, Brazil in June.
Hosted at the Unidad Deportiva El Salitre, a venue renowned for hosting major sporting events, the tournament promises high-level competition and an unforgettable experience for both athletes and fans. The event is organized by the Federación Colombiana de Baloncesto en Silla de Ruedas (Colombian Wheelchair Basketball Federation) in collaboration with IWBF Americas.
The 2025 Men’s U23 Americas Championship serves as the qualification tournament for the 2025 Men’s U23 World Championship.
Teams from across the region will compete for two available spots at next year’s World Championship. (*Brazil as host are already qualified).
Four teams have officially confirmed their participation in the upcoming competition:
Brazil, Canada, Colombia, and the USA.
With Brazil already have automatic qualification as host of the 2025 U23 World Championship, two additional spots remain up for grabs, setting the stage for an intense battle as teams vie for their place in the next phase of the tournament.

The IWBF Men’s U23 Wheelchair Basketball World Championship is an international competition showcasing the best young male wheelchair basketball players from around the world. Zonal qualification tournaments are held in each of the four IWBF Zones (Americas, Africa, Europe, and Asia Oceania) to determine the countries that qualify.
The event, held every four years, made its debut in 1997 in Toronto, Canada, and continues to be a platform for the next generation of elite athletes in the sport.
