In the women’s competition of the 2022 IWBF World Championships taking place at the World Trade Center in Dubai, UAE, defending and Paralympic champions the Netherlands defeated the USA, 66-57, in a close contest to top Group A. The Dutch were led by Mariska Beijer's double-double (31 points and 10 rebounds), and Bo Kramer who scored 25 points, 12 rebounds, and 7 assists.
They will meet Canada in their quarter-finals after Canada caused one of the biggest upsets of the day by beating China 54-50 in their last Group B match.
Canada's Head Coch, Marni Abbott-Peter, said:
“We’ve been in many tight games this week, and China was undefeated in the group play. For us to come out and compete today was awesome. We executed the game plan perfectly. At the end of the game, when it got tight, we kept our composure, did what we needed, and ended up with the win.”

Great Britain women fell at the hands of Australia in the last league game 63-52, in what was a must-win game with the winner claiming the final spot from Group B for the quarter-finals. Australia will meet Germany in the quarters that overcame Japan 61-52.
