The group draw for the 2025 U23 World Championship will take place on Saturday, 12 April at 16:30 (CET) at the Patrick Baumann House of Basketball in Mies, Switzerland, inconjunction the IWBF Executive Council meeting.

The draw will determine the two competition groups for the 12-team tournament, with countries paired based on zonal representation and ranking to ensure fair and balanced competition.

The official pairing pots for the draw are as follows:

  • Pairing 1: Australia and Japan
  • Pairing 2: USA and Canada
  • Pairing 3: Israel and Philippines
  • Pairing 4: Great Britain and Germany
  • Pairing 5: Türkiye and Italy
  • Pairing 6: Brazil and South Africa

IWBF is aiming to live stream the draw on the IWBF YouTube channel, giving teams and supporters around the world the opportunity to follow the action as it happens. The link to the stream will be confirmed and shared in advance, subject to final technical arrangements.

Once the draw is complete, the official group line-ups will be communicated directly to participating teams and made publicly available on IWBF platforms.
