It was the final day of the pool stages today (Wednesday 22nd November) at the 2017 IWBF Africa World Championships 2017 and the semi-final places were decided.


A slightly earlier start due to the extra game to play, rescheduled from Monday, Egypt opened the day with an 80 - 42 win over Angola. Statistics

The second game of the day saw Morocco defeated Kenya, 86-27, in what was a one-sided affair. Statistics

The next game saw hosts South Africa put up a resilient fight against top of the pool leaders Algeria. However, Algeria did not concede their perfect record and recorded their 6th consecutive win, 66-47.

In the women's competition, South Africa defeated Kenya in the final game of the pool stages. A professional performance secured them a 47-7 win and second spot in the pool.

Kenya men suffered their second heavy defeat of the day, this time at the hands of Zimbabwe, 83-22.

The matchup between Morocco and Egypt proved to be the closest game of the day, as Morocco clinched the second spot in the pool with a 71-52 victory


South Africa claimed the fourth and last semi-final place fourth spot by virtue of a 54-24 triumph over Angola.
