The road to Lima 2019 starts on Sunday for the Central American countries as they take part in the 2018 Para Central American Games.

The Games, a multi-sport event which will take place in Managua, Nicaragua, between Sunday 21st January to Sunday 28th January 2018, will host around 250 athletes from Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua and Panama. They will compete across six sports: athletics, boccia, goalball, powerlifting, swimming and wheelchair basketball.

Four countries, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua will compete in a 3x3 format of wheelchair basketball in the women’s competition.

In the men’s wheelchair basketball competition, all six countries will compete, which will act as the qualifying tournament for the 2018/2019 Central America and Caribbean Championships. The top three men's teams will qualify.

The 2018/2019 Central America and Caribbean Championships will then act as a qualifying tournament, with the top two ranked men’s teams earning their spot in the Lima 2019 Parapan American Games.
