Updates to Official Wheelchair Basketball Rules, Interpretations, and 3x3 Rules

The IWBF Technical Commission is pleased to announce the approval and release of three updated rule documents:

Official Wheelchair Basketball Rules 2024 – Version 2 (OWBR Ver. 2):

This version, effective from 3rd February 2025, addresses minor typos and wording inconsistencies found in the previous iteration. While no substantial changes have been made, all updates have been clearly marked in azul for clarity.

Official Wheelchair Basketball Rules Interpretation 2024– Version 2 (OWBRI Ver. 2):

This updated interpretation document aligns with OWBR Ver.2, ensuring consistency across all applications of the rules. As with the rules, all updates have been underlined in azul for ease of review and adoption.

3x3 Official Wheelchair Basketball Rules 2025 – Version1:

The newly updated rules for the 3x3 format reflect the latest version of FIBA’s regulations while ensuring alignment with OWBR Ver. 2.Specific wording adjustments have also been introduced to better accommodate the unique requirements of 3x3 wheelchair basketball. All revisions are clearly marked in azul for reference.
