Wheelchair Basketball Camp helps "increase the sporting competitiveness" of Dominican Republic

From June 10-12, a very special wheelchair basketball camp – organized by German based Rollt.Agentur, Elke Behrendt, La Federación de Baloncesto sobre Ruedas (FEDOBASIR) and Fundación Las Guerreras sobre Ruedas RD (FUNRUEDAS) - took place in Santo Domingo, the capital of the Dominican Republic.

For three days, the players - a mixture of 25 national players and the best players from other local teams - were coached by the assistant coach of the Spanish women's national team, Franck Belen, who had travelled there, especially for the camp. Frank was a real idol for the participants and at the end of the camp, all players agreed that the camp helped them very much to improve their own way of playing.

They described the camp as a big step for wheelchair basketball in the Dominican Republic to increase the sporting competitiveness of the Caribbean country.
