Men’s 2018 Central America and Caribbean Championship

The Men’s 2018 Central America and Caribbean Championships (CentroBasket Costa Rica 2018), which is the qualification tournament for the 2019 Parapan American Games in Lima, will take place between Monday 22nd October until Saturday 27th October at the Gimnasio Nacional in San Jose, Costa Rica.

UPDATE NEW SCHEDULE - Due to the late withdrawal of Honduras and Guatemala, the Championships will now start on Monday 22nd October. All teams will play each other in a round robin, to determine positions for the final classification games which will take place on Saturday 27th October.

Teams competing: Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Puerto Rico, Mexico, El Salvador, Dominican Republic.

Mexico will be looking to defend its title from 2016 where they defeated Puerto Rico for gold. El Salvador is hoping to finish in the top two after finishing third last time beating Nicaragua for the Bronze.

Federacion Paralimpica de Costa Rica (FPCR) host the event and have a good track record of hosting well-run events which include the CentroBasket BSR in 2016.
