As the excitement continues to mount for the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, the women's wheelchair basketball field is now complete following the conclusion of the 2024 IWBF Women's Repechage at the Asue Arena in Osaka, Japan. The tournament, held from 17 April to 20 April, showcased intense competition as teams vied for their chance to compete on the world stage.
Japan, Canada, Germany, and Spain emerged as the four triumphant teams, securing their spots in the prestigious Paralympic Games.
They will join already qualified Netherlands, Great Britain, USA, and China, who earned their places through their respective zonal competitions. Together, these eight teams represent the pinnacle of women's wheelchair basketball talent, ready to showcase their skills on the global stage.
IWBF President, Ulf Mehrens, commended the outstanding play exhibited throughout the IWBF Women's Repechage Tournament, expressing:
